DISCLOSURE OF ACQUISITION OF SECURITIES
In accordance with the JSE Limited Listings Requirements and Section 122(1) of
the Companies Act, No 71 of 2008, shareholders are advised that The Capital
Group Companies, Inc. ("CGC") has notified Shoprite Holdings that it has
acquired a beneficial interest in securities of the Company, such that the
total beneficial interest of Shoprite Holdings securities held by CGC is now
11.59% of the total issued Shoprite Holdings securities.
