ordinary shares were transferred from treasury shares on 29 May 2012 in respect
of the grant and vesting of awards under the Company`s share plans.
Following the transfer, Anglo American plc has a total of 15,372,664 ordinary
shares held in treasury and a total of 1,390,082,269 ordinary shares in issue,
excluding treasury shares.
