SANTAM LIMITED - APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER AND DIRECTOR
In terms of paragraph 3.59 of the Listing Requirements of the JSE Limited,
shareholders are advised of the following important changes to the board of
directors:
Appointment
Mr Hendrik David Nel (Hennie) has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer
(CFO) and to the Santam Limited board as an Executive Director with effect from
17 September 2012. Hennie is currently a partner at PwC, having joined them in
1993 and currently heads the PwC Financial Services Practice in the Western
Cape. He has substantial general and life insurance experience, having obtained
exposure to South African and international general insurance as audit partner
and audit manager for various assignments.
The Santam board looks forward to Hennie`s contribution to the company as CFO
and Executive Director.
Machiel Johannes Reyneke will continue to serve as CFO and Financial Director
until the effective date of Hennie`s appointment. Subsequent to Hennie`s
appointment as CFO and director, Machiel will assume a non-executive role on the
Santam board and will continue to serve as a member of the Risk Committee.
Machiel will also continue to serve on a number of boards of Santam`s subsidiary
companies.
