DISTRIBUTION ANNOUNCEMENT ON SATRIX 40 HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES '
('STXIHC')
With reference to the distribution announcement, the Managers and Trustees of SATRIX 40 (STX40)
have declared a distribution of an aggregate amount of 24.80 cents per Satrix 40 security constituted
as follows:

Dividends not subject to dividend tax 14.85578 cents
Gross dividends subject to dividend tax 9.56307 cents
Net dividends subject to dividend tax 8.14298 cents
Interest 0.11658 cents
Scrip lending income 0.26457 cents
In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is
disclosed:
1) Dividend withholding tax is 1.42009 cents
2) Dividend withholding tax (15% per security) is 1.43446 cents
3) STC credits at a rate of 15% is 0.01437 cents
4) Dividends not subject to dividend tax were declared before 1 April 2012 and are therefore not
subject to dividend withholding tax in accordance with the Income Tax Act.
5) The dividend tax deducted will be paid to the South African Revenue Service in respect of holders
that are not exempt from dividends tax.
6) Holders that are exempt from dividends tax or holders qualifying for a reduced rate per Double Tax
Agreement (DTA) will receive the appropriate dividend from their intermediary provided they have
completed and lodged the relevant exemption or reduced rate prescribed application form
timeously with their service provider. The responsibility to make such submissions is that of the
security holder and failure to do so may result in dividends tax being deducted in full.
Payment will be effected on, Tuesday, 10 July 2012 to all holders of Satrix 40 securities, recorded in
the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 29 June 2012.
Accordingly, the holders of STXIHC will receive a SATRIX 40 distribution in the form of; a dividend of
14.85578 cents or, 9.56307 cents or, 8.14298 cents depending on the classification above, 0.11658
cents in respect of interest and of 0.26457 cents in respect of scrip lending income on Tuesday, 10
July 2012, in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and
Investec Bank Limited.
