TRADING STATEMENT
In accordance with paragraph 3.4(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders are advised
that for the year ended 30 June 2012, the Group expects to release audited earnings per share ("basic EPS")
and headline earnings per share ("HEPS") within the ranges shown below.

The above results include an arbitration award handed down in favour of AMAP in respect of a claim by
AMAP’s subsidiary, Tedelex Trading (Pty) Limited, against Battery Technologies (Pty) Ltd. The claim arose
following the cancellation of orders of batteries supplied to Tedelex Trading (Pty) Limited on the basis that the
batteries did not meet specification requirements. The award is an amount of R28,8 million before tax.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or reported on by
the Group’s auditors. The Group’s audited results for the year ended 30 June 2012 are expected to be
published on or about 26 September 2012.
