ACID MINE DRAINAGE
Central Rand Gold notes the statement issued on 16 October 2012 by
the South African Department of Water Affairs which confirms that
the Trans Caledon Tunnel Authority (“TCTA”) is authorised to
finalise the awarding of the contract for the construction of the
infrastructure required for the interim Central Basin Acid Mine
Drainage solution. This authorisation allows the TCTA to conclude
and sign the necessary agreements with relevant mining houses in
order to implement such mandate.
Central Rand Gold will now engage further with TCTA in order to
ascertain the probable timeline within which such agreements,
which include the water pump donation agreement, may be expected
to be executed.
The Company will inform shareholders once the abovementioned
agreement has been agreed and signed with the TCTA.
