Strike action at Umlabu colliery suspended
Shareholders are referred to the announcement released on 24 October 2012, advising that the
operations at the Umlabu colliery near Breyten have been interrupted as a result of strike
action by the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM), due to a wage dispute.
On Saturday 3 November 2012 NUM informed the company that at a mass meeting held in Breyten
its members resolved to suspend the industrial action pending the outcome of the facilitation
process and to resume the production activities on 5th November 2012. Consequently, all the
NUM members who participated in the strike are likely to return to work on 5th November 2012.
Management continues to engage with the interested and affected parties.
