CHANGES TO THE BOARD – NEW APPOINTMENTS
The Board of Esorfranki is pleased to welcome the following
independent non-executive directors with effect from 23 May
2013:
Dr. Oswald Franks, BSc Engineering (Mechanical), MIA, B.Hons
(Business and Administration), PhD (Engineering Science),
Pr Eng,
Dr. Franks has been involved in the engineering field since
1978, having held appointments as Contract Engineer and
Project Engineer in his earlier career. He has also held
appointments as Senior Lecturer and Head of Department for the
Peninsula Technikon, Dean: Faculty of Engineering and
Director: Institute of Technology for the Cape Peninsula
University of Technology. He has published a number of
research papers and holds a number of professional and
advisory appointments. Dr Franks has received research awards
and scholarships during his illustrious career. He is
currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Engineering
Council of South Africa.
Ms Monhla Hlahla, BA (Honours)
Ms Hlahla holds a BA (Honours) from Pomona College (USA),
where she majored in economics and a MA in Urban Planning from
the UCLA School of Architecture and Planning (USA). Her
career has largely been in the infrastructure development and
financing sectors. She has, among others, held the positions
of Project Manager in bulk infrastructure with the Development
Bank of Southern Africa and as Managing Director of Airports
Company (ACSA). She has received several recognition awards
during her career, including The Black Management Forum’s
Business Personality of the Year in 2008. In December 2011
she was appointed Chairperson of the Industrial Development
Corporation and in April 2012, she was appointed Chairperson
of Royal Bafokeng Holdings.
