CHANGE IN BOARD OF DIRECTORS
In compliance with section 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, notification is hereby
given that Mr Humphrey Mathe has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of
Wescoal with effect from 10 July 2013.
Humphrey is a qualified geologist with an MSc and a PhD with in excess of 35 years experience in the
mining industry. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Tranter Resources (Pty) Ltd, responsible for the
Tranter resources division. Previously he was the Chief Executive Officer of Scinta South Africa (Pty) Ltd,
a coal resources company; and the Executive General Manager: Corporate Services at Exxaro Resources
Limited and prior to that was the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of Eyesizwe Coal (Pty)
Ltd. Humphrey sits on the boards of numerous companies and also serves on the Investment Committee
of the New Africa Mining Fund and is a Fellow of the Geological Society of South Africa.
