Gooderson - Monks Cowl Golf Resort
Shareholders are referred to the company’s announcement of its interim results on SENS on 16 October
2013, in which mention was made of the company’s expansion strategy. Part of the strategy included
the R20 million expansion at Monks Cowl Golf Resort in the Central Drakensberg for the construction
of 42 new rooms, a new reception and the upgrading of existing six rooms in 2013.
In 2013, the group commenced refurbishing Monks Cowl Golf Resort and built a new reception area
and 18 new rooms which would be opened on Friday 8 November 2013. The group also upgraded the
golf course. Further expansions are planned in 2014 which will consist of 24 new rooms, conference
facilities and recreational activities for the entire family.
The recently acquired Monks Cowl Golf Resort is the latest addition to Gooderson’s Drakensberg
resorts and provide affordable accommodation to visitors to the Champagne Valley of the Central
Drakensberg.
