AFROX CLINCHES R160 MILLION COLUMBUS STAINLESS CONTRACT
Afrox has signed a contract with Columbus Stainless (Pty) Limited ("Columbus"),
Africa's only producer of stainless steel flat products, to supply oxygen and nitrogen
via pipeline to its works in Middleburg. The contract is effective 1 February 2014.
Brett Kimber, Afrox managing director, said: "I am delighted to confirm we have
signed a contract extension to 2021 with Columbus for the continuing supply, via
pipeline, from our Witbank facility. This also secures the future of Afrox's Witbank
ASU facilities and, with this, additional liquid to the South African market."
Columbus' Dave Martin confirmed the extension sustains supply at competitive rates
and provides improved reliability with various back-up options to ensure security of
supply.
