Masonite confirms accident at Estcourt Mill
Masonite, a publicly traded company on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, would
like to confirm that on the afternoon of 6 June, 2014 there was an accident at its
Estcourt Mill during which eight employees were injured. Three employees remain
hospitalised while five others were treated for minor injuries and released.
"Masonite takes the safety of our employees very seriously," said CEO Hilton Loring.
"We are doing everything possible to help the affected employees and their families."
The section of the mill where the accident occurred will remain closed while
evaluations to its structural integrity are being completed. The impact on production
in the relevant section is not known at this stage.
