APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
In terms of paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, Gijima
is pleased to announce the appointment of Maphumuzana "Maphum" Nxumalo as Chief
Operating Officer (COO) and Executive Director with effect from 1 July 2014.
Mr Nxumalo holds a Diploma in Datametrics as well as Computer Science, Statistics
and operational research from UNISA, attended the Strategic Business Leadership,
Executive Development and SAP regional Executive Development programmes at local
and international leading business schools and has over thirty seven years’
corporate working experience, at first in the mining and retail industries, then in
IT companies.
Before Mr Nxumalo joined Gijima he was employed at T-Systems in August 2012, held
the position of Vice President: Systems Integration for 9 months, before assuming
responsibilities for Strategic Business Development (SBD) as Vice President for the
last 12 months and executive committee member.
Mr Nxumalo held several small executive directorships, including in UNISYS (2000 –
2003), National Research Foundation (2001 – 2006), Sybase SA (1998 – 2000), Face
Technologies (2000 – 2001) and Ariel Technologies (2000 – 2001). Mr Nxumalo was
also a member of SA Interim Secretariat Committee on Y2K appointed by President
Mbeki. Mr Nxumalo was also the COO of SAP Africa and the CEO of SAS Institute in
Africa before joining T-Systems.
