CLN183, CLN185, CLN196 and CLN197.
NOTICE IS GIVEN TO ALL HOLDERS OF CLN183 (ISIN ZAG000086919),
CLN185 (ISIN ZAG000086992), CLN196 (ISIN ZAG000089053) and
CLN197 (ISIN ZAG000089061) Listed Notes issued in terms of The
Standard Bank of South Africa Limited’s Credit Linked Note
Programme dated 30 November 2001 (the “Notes”). Capitalised
terms used and not otherwise defined in this announcement have
the meaning given to them in the Pricing Supplements of the
Notes, as read with the Programme Memorandum.
This is a Credit Event Notice to all holders of the Notes that a
Bankruptcy Credit Event has occurred in respect of African Bank
Limited, the Reference Entity under each of the Notes, following
the appointment of a curator to the bank in terms of Section 69
of the Banks Act 94 of 1990 on 10 August 2014.
This Credit Event Notice together with the required Notices of
Publicly Available Information confirming the occurrence of the
events described herein will be delivered to the holders of the
Notes during the course of today.
