CHANGE IN THE FUNCTIONS OF DIRECTORS AND CHANGE IN COMPOSITION OF THE BOARD
In compliance with paragraph 3.59(c) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders are
hereby notified of the following change in the functions of directors. Purple Group Executive Chairman,
Mark Barnes, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of the South Africa Post Office (SAPO),
effective 15th January 2016.
Mark will then take on a non-executive role within the Purple Group. He will retain his office and remain
involved in the strategic direction and stakeholder interests of the Purple Group, as Chairman. “The group
executive, led by CEO Charles Savage, have done a great job at building out the group, its products,
services and revenue streams and I have every confidence that they will continue to do so. Whilst I will
continue to play an influential role and maintain my board and shareholder interests, the executive have
for some time not required my daily support. It’s a great team with an incredible culture and they are
getting things right,” said Barnes.
