Change of Credit Rating Agency Announcement

The credit rating of Bank of China(Johannesburg Branch) DMTN programme was
affirmed by Fitch Rating Agency on 21 January 2016 at AAA(zaf). With the de-
registration of Fitch Ratings it has become necessary to arrange a credit rating
by an approved ECAI.
In compliance with the JSE Debt Listing Requirements and to the benefit of note
holders, Bank of China (Johannesburg Branch) Limited has engaged Moody’s Ratings
Agency, an approved ECAI, to provide a rating in compliance with the Credit
Ratings Services Act.
