DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BHP BILLITON PLC HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES

With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of BHP Billiton plc have declared a final dividend of 14
US cents per ordinary share payable on Tuesday, 20 September 2016 to ordinary shareholders, recorded in the
books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 02 September 2016.
The currency exchange rate applicable for the dividend is 14.181000.
In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, additional information is required to be disclosed:
1) local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2) net local dividend amount 168.753900 cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the new Dividends Tax
and 198.534000 cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the new Dividends Tax; and
3) the issued share capital of BHP Billiton plc at the dividend determination date of 16 August 2016 was
2,112,071,796 ordinary shares.
Accordingly, the warrant holders of BILIHA, will receive a BHP Billiton plc dividend amount per security on
Tuesday, 20 September 2016 in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders
and Investec Bank Limited. The last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend is 30
August 2016.
BILIHA Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities have commenced trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on 31 August 2016, the record date will be Friday, 02 September 2016.
