Trading Statement
Shareholders are advised that the Naspers group (“the group”) is presently finalising
its condensed consolidated interim report for the six months ended 30 September 2016.
We expect core headline earnings per share to be between 23% (39 US cents) and 28%
(47 US cents) higher than the comparable period’s 169 US cents. Shareholders are
reminded that the board considers core headline earnings an appropriate indicator of
the sustainable operating performance of the group, as it adjusts for non-recurring and
non-operational items.
It is expected that earnings per share for the six months ended 30 September 2016 will
be between 10% (15 US cents) and 15% (22 US cents) lower compared to the prior
period’s 148 US cents.
Headline earnings per share is expected to increase by between 10% (11 US cents)
and 15% (17 US cents) from the prior period’s 114 US cents.
Further details will be provided in the condensed consolidated interim report, due to be
released on or about 25 November 2016. Financial information on which this trading
statement is based has not been reviewed or reported on by the company’s auditors.
