APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The FirstRand board is pleased to announce that Ms Thandie Sylvia Mashego
has been appointed as a non-executive director of FirstRand and its
wholly-owned subsidiary, FirstRand Bank (“the boards”).
The Office of the Registrar of Banks has today, 19 January 2017,
confirmed that they have no objection to the appointment of Ms Mashego to
the boards, with effect from 1 January 2017.
