APPEAL AGAINST DIRECTIVE BY DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS
Shareholders are referred to the announcements, released on the Stock Exchange
News Service on 17 February 2017 and 20 February 2017, regarding the Department of
Environmental Affairs (“DEA”) directive against FG Landfill, and Interwaste (Pty) Ltd’s
(“Interwaste”) appeal against same.
Subsequent to the exchange of affidavits in Interwaste’s High Court Application, the DEA
has undertaken not to enforce their directive pending the Minister’s analysis of
Interwaste’s appeal and representations by interested parties.
In turn, Interwaste has agreed to withdraw its high court application, which was due to be
heard on 23 February 2017.
FG Landfill site remains open at this time.
