INCREASE IN DIVIDEND TAX RATE
Truworths advises shareholders that following the announcement by the South African
Minister of Finance on 22 February 2017, the dividend tax rate has been increased from
15% to 20%, with effect from 22 February 2017.
Shareholders are referred to the company’s unaudited group interim report for the
26 weeks ended 25 December 2016, released on SENS on 16 February 2017 (‘Results’),
wherein the directors of the company declared a gross cash dividend of 270 cents per
share.
In light of the above, shareholders are advised that the net dividend payable, after
deduction of dividend tax at the rate of 20%, will therefore be 216 cents per share for
shareholders who do not qualify for an exemption from or reduction in such tax.
All other information contained in the Results remains unchanged.
