VOLUNTARY ANNOUNCEMENT
We have noticed various misleading media reports and statements
regarding the chairman of PSG Group, Jannie Mouton. For the
avoidance of doubt and to address any inaccurate reports, please
note the following:
1. Jannie Mouton was a non-executive director of Steinhoff
International Holdings N.V. (“Steinhoff”) until May 2016 only.
2. Furthermore, the entity through which Jannie Mouton held an
indirect beneficial interest in Steinhoff commenced disposing
of its interest in Steinhoff (comprising 7 million Steinhoff
shares) shortly after his resignation and completed such
disposal by June 2017. The funds obtained from such disposal
were used to settle debt and to fund the Jannie Mouton
Foundation, a charitable organisation focused on education and
social upliftment in South Africa.
3. Accordingly, neither Jannie Mouton nor the Jannie Mouton
Foundation, currently owns any shares in Steinhoff.
