GROUP FIVE APPOINTS NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Group Five announces the appointment of a new chief financial officer (CFO), Anthony
Clacher (53), with effect from today, to replace Cristina Freitas Teixeira who will be leaving
the Group this month after announcing her departure on 2 October 2018.
Anthony has operated as a chartered accountant for more than 25 years and has been in
financial director and board roles for more than ten years. He has worked in sectors relevant
to Group Five for the last nine years, with his most recent role being that of Financial Director
at Consolidated Power Project Group South Africa, where his responsibilities included South
African and over-border markets where Group Five operates.
Anthony has significant experience in restructurings, asset disposals and challenging
business environments, which will bring very appropriate skills to the role as Group Five
executes on its new strategy.
Before working at Consolidated Power Project Group South Africa, Anthony worked at
Supergroup, Bridgestone, Maxiprest and Barlows Equipment after starting his career as an
article clerk at PWC.
The board and management welcome Anthony to the role of CFO and look forward to working
with him to continue addressing the Group’s current challenges.
