UPDATE ON THE UNIVERSAL COAL TRANSACTION
Wescoal shareholders are referred to the detailed cautionary announcement released by Wescoal on
SENS on 26 October 2018, and the renewal thereof on 10 December 2018, wherein Wescoal
announced that it had joined a consortium led by private equity firm, Ata Resources Coal Investments
Proprietary Limited, to acquire the entire issued, and to be issued, ordinary share capital of Universal
Coal Plc ("Universal Coal"), a company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (the "Proposed
Transaction").
Universal Coal today issued an announcement giving its shareholders an update on the progress made
as regards the Proposed Transaction, and Wescoal shareholders are referred to this announcement
which can be found on the Universal Coal website at http://www.universalcoal.com/media-centre/asx-
releases/.
