APPOINTMENT OF FINANCIAL DIRECTOR
In accordance with paragraph 3.59(a) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements the
Board of the Company wishes to advise that Mr Willem Marais has been appointed
as Financial Director with immediate effect.
Willem studied BCom Accounting from 2012 to 2014 at the Nelson Mandela
Metropolitan University and went on to pass his BCom Honours in Accounting in 2015.
In 2013 he was granted membership to the Golden Key International Honour Society
and in 2014 was selected to be a Supplemental Instruction Tutor at Nelson Mandela
Metropolitan University.
He joined Deloitte in the Johannesburg office in 2016 and completed his articles in
2018. During this time, he was involved with the audit of a number of large listed and
unlisted companies. Willem passed the ITC (Board 1) with his first attempt in 2016,
passed the APC (Board 2) on his first attempt in 2017 and became eligible to register
with SAICA as a CA(SA) from January 2019.
He joined Pembury as group financial manager in January 2019, assisting with the
improvement in internal controls, providing support to the Financial Director and
assisting with the audit for the year ended 31 December 2018. He has subsequently
been appointed as the Financial Director based on his performance.
The Board welcomes Willem to the Board of Directors and looks forward to working
with him going forward.
