APPOINTMENT OF INTERIM EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN AND ACTING GROUP CHIEF
EXECUTIVE
Eskom welcomes the appointment of Mr Jabulane Mabuza as Interim Executive Chairman
and Acting Group Chief Executive of the company effective 1 August 2019. The
announcement was made by the Minister of Public Enterprises Mr Pravin Gordhan at the
Eskom Annual General Meeting held in Pretoria on Monday, 29 July 2019.
Mr Jabu Mabuza says, "I have made myself available to serve as the Interim Executive
Chairman and Acting Group Chief Executive of Eskom with a good appreciation of the
importance of leadership stability in the company right now as we look at the implementation
of a sustainable operational and financial turnaround plan."
The Board supports and welcomes Mr Mabuza's appointment and urges all stakeholders to
work together to ensure that Eskom emerges from the challenges it currently faces with
positive outcomes. The Board is committed to finalize the appointment of the permanent
Group Chief Executive in the next three months while Mabuza is acting.
