ESKOM APPOINTS GENERAL MANAGER TREASURY (GROUP TREASURER)
Eskom has today announced that Richard Vaughan has been appointed General Manager
Treasury (Group Treasurer) effective 15 May 2020. His appointment is a firm commitment
from Eskom’s management to support the stabilisation of the company’s leadership.
Richard is a seasoned finance professional with over 20 years experience in the Treasury
environment. He brings with him a wealth of experience and track record of developing
and administering effective organisational policies and procedures in the financial
environment. His previous roles have also exposed him to all facets of a large corporate
and diverse financial stakeholder management activities.
Richard joins Eskom at a pivotal moment, when the company’s leadership strives to
resolve the long-standing operational and financial challenges. Eskom’s Chief Financial
Officer, Calib Cassim said, “we are encouraged that Richard’s extensive experience not
only in Treasury but in all aspects of Finance will be of value as we implement the Finance
strategy in support of the Eskom turnaround plan and programmes aimed at returning the
company to financial sustainability.”
