Moody’s Credit Rating Announcement
On 26 November Moody’s Investors Service (Moody’s) downgraded Transnet’s long-term local and
foreign currency ratings to 'Ba2' from ‘Ba1’. The Baseline Credit Assessment (BCA) and the National
Scale Rating senior unsecured Medium-Term Note program ratings were affirmed at ‘Ba2’ and
‘Aa2.za’ respectively. The Outlook remains Negative.
The rating action followed Moody’s downgrade of the sovereign’s long-term local and foreign
currency ratings from ‘Ba1’ to ‘Ba2’ on 20 November 2020.
