APPOINTMENT OF A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
In compliance with section 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, the
Standard Bank Group board is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Cook to its
board and that of The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited as an independent
non-executive director with effect from 22 February 2021.
Paul Cook (40), BSc(Hons)(Physics)(Wits), PhD (Theoretical and Mathematical Physics)
(California Institute of Technology), is the co-founder and Managing Director of
Silvertree Holdings, a leading disruptive consumer brand builder, with expertise in
using digital tools to engage consumers and build new brands. Paul also has extensive
management consulting experience, with specialisation in global strategy and African
growth.
Paul is also the Chief Executive Officer of Faithful to Nature Proprietary Limited,
a natural and organics on-line retailer and subsidiary of Silvertree Holdings. He was
previously the Managing Director of Ringier Africa Deals Group, a subsidiary of a
Swiss media conglomerate and Silvertree Holdings, which operated consumer ecommerce
operations in Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.
