RETIREMENT OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND APPOINTMENT OF LEAD INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR
In accordance with paragraph 3.59(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, the board
of directors of the Company (“Board”) wishes to advise that on 8 April 2021, Mr George
Eksteen (“George”), the current lead independent director of Zeder, stepped down as an
independent non-executive director of the Company with immediate effect, due to health
reasons.
George joined the Board in September 2009, serving, inter alia, as an independent non-
executive director and later as the lead independent director of the Board. At the date of his
retirement, George was a member of the audit and risk, remuneration and the nomination
committees of the Company.
George’s selfless sharing of his extensive agricultural knowledge with the Board and Zeder
management is testament to his character. The Board would like to thank George for his
unwavering commitment and valuable contribution to the Company over the past 12 years.
Furthermore, the Board is pleased to announce that Ms Nonhlanhla Mjoli-Mncube, who has
served on the Board since June 2016, has been appointed as the new lead independent
director of the Company with immediate effect.
