CHANGE TO THE BOARD
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, SPAR shareholders are
hereby advised that Ms Jane Anne Canny has been appointed to the board of directors of the Company
(“Board”) as an independent non-executive director and member of the risk committee and social and
ethics committee, with effect from 1 May 2021.
Ms Canny is a Fellow of the Institute of the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa and has
previously held positions as Group Executive at Thank U Digital (a subsidiary of Edcon), Chief
Operating Officer at Business Connexion and Commercial Executive at UCS Group. She has
experience in executive mentoring, financial accounting and company secretarial roles and brings a
wealth of financial, legal and corporate governance expertise to the Board.
The Board looks forward to the value and input that Ms Canny’s appointment will bring to the Company.
