Further Cautionary Announcement
Reference is made to the JSE Limited Stock Exchange News Service (“SENS”) further
cautionary announcement released by Sanlam Limited (“Sanlam”) earlier today in which
Sanlam announced that it and Allianz SE continue to explore various strategic options in
relation to their respective African business units (excluding South Africa).
Further to the cautionary announcements released by Santam on SENS on 22
December 2021 and 3 February 2022, Santam is aware of the ongoing discussion
between Sanlam and Allianz SE and is concurrently considering the strategic
alternatives available to it in relation to its investments in Africa (outside South Africa)
held alongside Sanlam.
If these strategic alternatives result in a transaction which is successfully concluded, it
may have a material effect on the price of Santam’s securities. Accordingly,
shareholders are advised to continue exercising caution when dealing in Santam's
securities until a further announcement in this regard is made.
