LOSS-OF-LIFE INCIDENT AT MOAB KHOTSONG
Johannesburg, Monday, 15 August 2022. Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited
(“Harmony” and/or “the Company”) regrets to advise that an employee lost their
life on Saturday morning, 13 August 2022, following a fall of ground incident
at its Moab Khotsong mine, near Orkney, in the North West province.
“The board, executives and management of Harmony wish to extend their deepest
condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased. Harmony will provide
the necessary support to the family as we mourn the loss of our colleague.”
Peter Steenkamp, chief executive officer of Harmony commented.
The relevant authorities, as well as the family members of the deceased were
informed and a comprehensive in-loco investigation is currently underway.
