PROGRESS: BAKUBUNG PLATINUM MINE CONCENTRATOR PLANT HOT
COMMISSIONING
On 5 June 2023, WPL’s Executive leadership visited the Bakubung Platinum Mine’s
Concentrator Plant for Hot Commissioning. So far, a continuous test-running of the plant has
been in effect, with the ultimate goal of reaching its optimum and permanent processing
stage.
Between 5 June 2023 and 18 June 2023 a collective amount of 1,530 tons was milled where
several defects have been experienced. These include: lube system failure, excessive
spillage on pulleys and trolleys and challenges with the hydraulic pump.
WPL is working tirelessly to ensure that the experienced defects are attended to, and
resolved urgently for the goal of commissioning our concentrator plant.
