Trading Statement
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, companies are required to publish a trading statement
as soon as they are reasonably certain that the financial results for the current reporting period will differ by at
least 20% from the prior comparative reporting period.
For the six months ended 30 June 2023 (the “current period”), Brimstone expects to report:
• earnings per share (“EPS”) of between 35.1 cents and 36.1 cents, compared to EPS of 10.3 cents reported
for the six months ended 30 June 2022 (the “comparative period”), representing an increase in EPS of
between 241% and 251% for the current period; and
• headline earnings per share (“HEPS”) of between 33.7 cents and 34.7 cents, compared to a HEPS of 10.1
cents reported for the comparative period, representing an increase in HEPS of between 234% and 244% for
the current period.
The increase in the profit for the current period compared to the comparative period is mainly due to:
• an increase in other gains and losses; and
• an increase in the Group’s share of profits of associates and joint ventures.
Shareholders are advised that the financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by the Company’s auditors.
Brimstone’s results for the current period are expected to be published on SENS on or about 4 September 2023.
