                     Informative Notice (FTSE/JSE Africa Index Series)

FTSE/JSE notes the announcement by Anglogold Ashanti Ltd (South Africa, ZAE000043485, FTSE/JSE Top
40 Index) in relation to a reorganisation in order to effect a change in incorporation to the UK and a change
in primary listing to the New York Stock Exchange. In the reorganisation, shareholders will receive one
share in Anglogold Ashanti Plc (GB00BRXH2664) for each share held, which will commence trading on the
Johannesburg Stock Exchange as a secondary listing from the open of Wednesday 20 September 2023.

Subject to finalisation, FTSE/JSE intends to reflect the reorganisation as name and identifier updates on
the effective date and index memberships will be retained.

Anglogold Ashanti Plc will be treated as foreign for index purposes and will use Shareholder Weighted free
float in all the FTSE/JSE indices effective from the December 2023 review.
