REVIEWED CONDENSED CONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS 
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2023 

AOE is an investment holding company incorporated in South Africa and listed on the JSE 
Limited ("JSE") in the "apparel retailers" sector. The company has investments in fashion 
retail, property, media and broadcasting and water infrastructure. 

FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS 
- Revenue increased by 35.1% to R899.3 million (2022: R665.7 million) 
- Gross profit margin % decreased to 49.3% (2022: 54.7%) 
- Operating profit increased by 66.8% to R142.5 million (2022: R85.4 million) 
- Earnings per share increased by 62.6% to 408.2 cents (2022: 251.1 cents) 
- Headline earnings per share increased by 78.2% to 412.6 cents (2022: 231.5 cents) 
- Net asset value per share increased by 41.0% to R18.88 (2022: R13.39) 
- Ordinary dividend per share paid amounted to nil cents (2022: nil cents)

subsequent to the finalisation of fair values of assets and liabilities recognised due to a business
