DISCLOSURE OF BENEFICIAL INTERESTS IN SECURITIES
In compliance with section 122(3)(b) of the Companies Act, No. 71 of 2008 (as amended) (the "Companies
Act") and paragraph 3.83(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders are advised that
Grindrod has received formal notification from Coronation Asset Management (Pty) Ltd ("Coronation"), that
Coronation has acquired an interest in the ordinary shares of the Company, such that the total beneficial
interest in the ordinary shares of the Company held by Coronation on behalf of its clients now amounts to 5%
of the total number of ordinary shares in issue.
The board of directors of Grindrod ("Board") accepts responsibility for the information contained in this
announcement and confirms that, to the best of their knowledge and belief, such information is true and this
announcement does not omit anything likely to affect the importance of such information. The Board has relied
on the accuracy of the information contained in the notification received from Coronation in making this
statement.
As required in terms of section 122(3)(a) of the Companies Act, Grindrod has filed the required notice with the
Takeover Regulation Panel.
