Shareholders are advised that Datatec"s subsidiary, Westcon Group, Inc., is
considering an initial public offering of its common stock in the United States
during the first half of calendar 2004. If the offering is consummated, it may
have an effect on the price at which the Company"s shares trade on the JSE
Securities Exchange South Africa.
Accordingly, Datatec shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing
in the Company"s shares until a further announcement is made.
