Company Update
Labat is currently involved in discussions with Allied Technologies Ltd
("Altech"), relating to the card manufacturing portion of Altech"s card
business, Africard, excluding the card personalisation activities thereof.
The outcome of these discussions is dependent upon the obtaining of approval by
the Competition Tribunal of Altech"s proposed purchase of control of NamITech
Holdings Limited. Should this approval be obtained, Labat would enter into
detailed discussions relating to a proposed purchase of the card-manufacturing
portion of Africard, which transaction would in turn be conditional upon
approval by the Competition Authorities.
A further announcement will be made by the Company as and when the
abovementioned issues have been resolved.
