Trading Statement and Cautionary Announcement
Due to positive trading conditions, occupancies for the six months ended 31
December 2003 have been maintained at the same level as the comparable prior
year six month period, despite the effects which the World Summit on Sustainable
Development had in that period. These occupancies were achieved at better
yields and off an expanded base.
As a result, City Lodge expects that its interim results for the six months to
31 December 2003 will be materially better than for the comparable period in the
previous financial year. In terms of the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa
Listings Requirements, "materially" is defined as being between 10% and 30%.
This statement has not been reviewed by City Lodge"s auditors and consequently
shareholders should exercise caution when trading in City Lodge shares, until
the interim results are released on or about 13 February 2004.
