Announcement relating to the delay in publication of Fairvest"s annual results
and further cautionary announcement
The directors of Fairvest wish to inform shareholders that the annual financial
results for the year ended 30 September 2003 were expected to be published on or
before Wednesday, 21 January 2004.
The company had a programme for completion and publication of the results by
that date. Unfortunately due to the sudden serious illness of the partner in
charge of the audit of the company it is not likely that the audited or reviewed
results will be published by Friday, 30 January 2004.
The JSE Securities Exchange South Africa has indicated that, if the results are
not published by Friday, 30 January 2004, the shares of the company will be
suspended.
The board of directors of Fairvest and the auditors are doing everything
possible to avoid this situation.
The transaction whereby Fairvest intends to dispose of its entire property
portfolio to Alpina Investments Limited is continuing and the circular will be
sent to shareholders as soon as practicable.
Further cautionary
Shareholders are accordingly advised to continue to exercise caution when
dealing in their Fairvest linked units.
