RESULTS OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND FURTHER CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Ernst & Young Sponsors (Proprietary) Limited is authorised to announce that at
the annual general meeting of the company held at 10:00 on Friday, 23 January
2004 the requisite majority of shareholders approved the special and ordinary
resolutions as contained in the notice convening the annual general meeting. The
special resolution will be lodged for registration with the Registrar of
Companies as required in terms of the Companies Act (Act No 61 of 1973, as
amended).
Further to the cautionary announcement dated Thursday, 11 December 2003,
shareholders are advised that there are still circumstances relating to the
fulfillment of the outstanding condition precedent, the full impact of which may
have a material effect on the price of AVASA"s securities. Accordingly
shareholders are advised to continue exercising caution when dealing in AVASA"s
securities until a full announcement is made.
