TRADING UPDATE AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Securities Exchange South
Africa ("JSE"), a listed company is required to publish a trading statement as
soon as it becomes aware that its financial results for the next reporting
period will be substantially different from those of the corresponding period of
the previous year.
Accordingly, shareholders are advised that it is anticipated that Primedia"s
results for the six months ended 31 December 2003 will be *substantially higher
than those of the corresponding period of the previous year due to the strong
trading performance of the Group"s South African operations and the reduced
losses resulting from the previously announced sale of the Group"s loss making
operations.
As the forecast has not been reviewed or reported on by Primedia"s auditors,
shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in Primedia"s shares
until the release of the preliminary profit announcement for the six months
ended 31 December 2003 which is expected to be published on or about 2 March
2004.
