COMPETITION TRIBUNAL APPROVES SALE OF NAMITECH
Further to the press release dated 7 October 2003 in which it was announced that
the Competition Commission had recommended to the Competition Tribunal that the
acquisition by Altech of a controlling shareholding in NamITech Holdings Limited
should not be permitted, Nampak is pleased to announce that the Competition
Tribunal has approved the acquisition, subject to Altech disposing of its
Africard business, excluding its personalisation bureau, to an approved
purchaser and terminating its exclusive right to distribute Datacard
personalisation equipment, spares and solutions in South Africa.
The effective date of the transaction is expected to be by the end of February
2004 and payment for Nampak"s shareholding will be received within 5 (five)
business days thereafter.
