TRADING STATEMENT AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Based on an unaudited earnings estimate, the group"s results for the year ended
31 December 2003 will reflect a substantial* improvement over the results for
the previous financial year ended 31 December 2002.
(* "substantial" is defined in the Listings Requirements of the JSE Securities
Exchange South Africa as a change equal to or greater than 30% when compared to
the prior comparative period.)
The improvement is attributable to increased turnover, more favourable exchange
rates and improved operating conditions.
Further details will be provided when Metair"s audited annual financial
statements for the year ended 31 December 2003 are released on or about 31 March
2004. Shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in Metair shares
until the aforementioned annual financial statements are released.
