NOTIFICATION OF INTEREST IN SHARES
Lonrho today received notification, pursuant to sections 198 to 202 of the
Companies Act 1985, that Silverslaggan AB, a company wholly-owned by Mr Peter
Gyllenhammar, acquired 500,000 ordinary shares of 20 pence each in the capital
of the Company on 9 February 2004. Silverslaggan AB now owns a total of
1,850,000 ordinary shares representing 1.17 per cent. of the Company"s issued
share capital.
Given Mr Gyllenhammar"s interest in The Union Discount Company of London
Limited, which already owns 12,750,000 ordinary shares in Lonrho, Mr
Gyllenhammar is now interested in a total of 14,600,000 ordinary shares in the
Company. This represents a notifiable interest of 9.27 per cent of the Company"s
issued share capital.
