APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR
Following the acquisition of McCarthy Limited, Bidvest is pleased to announce
the appointment, with effect from February 19 2004, of Brand Pretorius as an
executive director.
Brand spent 22 years at Toyota South Africa, the last four as Managing Director
of Toyota SA Marketing and joined the McCarthy Group in 1994 as CEO of McCarthy
Motor Holdings. He was appointed as Group CEO of McCarthy Limited in October
1999. His responsibilities within the group entail the chairmanship of McCarthy
Motor Holdings, McCarthy Financial Services, Budget Rent a Car and McCarthy On-
Line. Brand is a member of various advisory boards and a current board member of
the Marketing Federation of Southern Africa and is currently a member of the
main board of the National Business Iniative and the President of the South
African Retail Motor Industry association.
