AGM STATEMENT
The annual general meeting of shareholders of Tiger Brands Limited is scheduled
to take place at 09:00 on 23 February 2004. It has become common practice at
such meetings for the Chairman to provide a trading update covering the
performance of the company from the commencement of the new financial year being
1 October 2003.
At the above annual general meeting of shareholders ("AGM") the Chairman will
advise the meeting that at the meeting of the board of directors that will
immediately follow the AGM, the board will be giving consideration as to whether
there is a need for a trading statement to be issued as is contemplated by the
Listings Requirements of the JSE Securities Exchange, South Africa.
Accordingly, it would be inappropriate to issue a trading update prior to the
consideration by the board of directors of the earnings forecast for the current
six-month period ending on 31 March 2004.
Consequently a trading update and subject to the decision of the board, a
trading statement in terms of the Listings Requirements, will be released on
SENS at the conclusion of the board meeting.
