TRADING UPDATE AND CAUTIONARY STATEMENT
Shareholders are advised that the company"s earnings and headline earnings per
share for the year to 29 February 2004 will be materially* below those of the
comparative period.
* "Materially" is defined in the Listings Requirements of the JSE Securities
Exchange South Africa ("JSE") as a difference of between 10% and 30%.
Whilst the level of business activity generally met the expectations management
had at the beginning of the financial year, the strengthening of the Rand has
been the principal reason for the decline in the results. This matter was
highlighted in the interim results announcement.
The annual results for the year to 29 February 2004 will be published on or
about 5 April 2004, at which stage full details will be provided regarding the
company"s results.
The company"s results have not been reviewed and/or reported on by the company"s
auditors and accordingly, shareholders are advised to exercise caution when
dealing in the company"s securities on the JSE until the results are published.
